MEGA MALL BUCHAREST, ROMANIA
M is for Mega Mall
There is a lot to consider when choosing furniture for the biggest shopping mall in the fast-paced and striving capital city like Bucharest (Romania).
Not only the items in question have to be durable and suitable for the contract market, they also have to be stylish, eye-catching while remaining functional and easy to read for the mall’s visitors.
The chosen design should help easily distinguish the mall from many others in the country. The show-stopping pieces should give the visitors that “wow” effect while not taking all the attention from the shops.
Is that all easy-peasy? Not really, but there is nothing we love more than a good challenge!
So where did our work with Mega Mall start exactly? At the very beginning!
At BDS we are no strangers to working closely with designers and project managers assisting them anywhere we can by sharing our broad knowledge of furniture and years of experience.
Working with Mega Mall team, we helped further develop the concept, which led us to the project’s signature piece – the “M” bench.
The further design we were developing had to be consistent with the core “M” concept.
And really… who said the mall seating solutions have to be plain and boring? In our scope of work, this is the very heart of the project – this is where people take a break from the shopping craze.
This is where a group of girlfriends sits to share the shopping safari trophies, or where parents can rest for a moment after their kids threw a tantrum over the toy it saw, finally, it is where the boyfriend patiently waits for his girlfriend looking for that “dress she desperately needs”.
So YES, we believe mall’s seating solutions are the essential part of its interior design.
Adults, however, are not the only mall’s visitors we always keep in mind when working on a project like this.
When furnishing shopping malls, we like to remember about the kids too. Oval shaped, brightly colored and very durable pieces are the very definition of what kids-dedicated area should be like.
Working on the concept does not limit us to offering chairs and benches only. We always like to take a step back and have a look at the bigger picture. We are always trying to find new ways to make our projects stand out in various ways.
Greenery is very often an overlooked part of the mall’s design. We at BDS Contract believe it gives the very much needed breath of fresh air and lightness to even the most crowded areas.
Whether you prefer the plants to be freestanding or integrated into the furniture, we have a wide offer of pots and seating solutions ready to accommodate our client’s vision.
